Phuket, part 2.

Posted on March 9, 2013

Despite the mass amounts of tourists on every corner of Patong City, I really did enjoy myself the 3 days we’d spent in the heart of Phuket. The company was a major contributing factor. Funny thing was, we’d gone through so much trouble with flights on our way to Phuket, we really were just not in the mood when we’d arrived. And after waiting around for  what seemed like an uncertain ride from the airport (no wifi to contact, no contact number, no address for accommodation -we really should have planned better), waiting around being eyed by 2 guys in a ute, we’d never been more relieved to see our friends pull up in their hired car and just about ran into their arms.…

“Days like this I want to drive away….” To Tallebudgera Creek Beach!

…to semi-quote Katy Perry. Days like this are the reason I love living in the sunshine state! An hour drive away from Brissy, perfect weather and great company -it was a mean day! The creek itself was just off Palm Beach at the Gold Coast, and in my opinion was a much more run down, relaxed version of the neighbouring beach which I loved! Not to say I have any less love for coastline wave-crashing beaches! Tallebudgera was super cute! There were heaps of families with their kids, people fishing along the rocks, small open boats sailing back and…

Gold on the Coast: Kirra Beach

Posted on April 1, 2012

First thing you should know about me is I’m very much a homebody, which has its benefits and its downfalls. But then I have this other somewhat suppressed desire to travel just about everywhere and try every variation of water sport. It’s a funny balance. This trip to Kirra with the family was like a mini getaway close to home but at the same time like a home away from home. We’ve been to this same hotel 3 times now. It’s so beautiful, with the most amazing view. No one’s complaining. There was a surf competition of some sort happening, too many kayaks/surfboards for me to handle! The beauty! So grateful I live in Australia & so within reach of the coast, we have the best beaches!
